Along with Pavel Dostálík, Martin Wagenknecht is one of the longest-serving players at Amba — and like him, he forms the backbone the club's identity is built on. Alongside his playing career he has spent years coaching the younger age groups, passing his experience on. His footballing outlook was broadened further by a coaching camp in the USA run by Ambassadors Football, where he picked up new ideas about coaching and about the game itself. On the pitch he plays as a wing-back, and he is exactly the kind of player who fills that role completely — an engine the team can rely on both in defence and in support of the attack. His stamina lets him cover the whole flank match after match, and an excellent pass makes him a player who can start an attacking move exactly as required.
